O castelo foi de importância estratégica na história japonesa, e foi o local de nascimento de Ieyasu Tokugawa, o guerreiro unificador do Japão, que foi retratado ficcionalmente no romance “Shogun”, e talvez a figura individual mais importante na construção do Japão moderno. Okazaki Castle is the symbol of the city, and for many years played a central role in the town’s life. He is also leaning on a spear with three severed heads of his fallen enemies. It was drawn by a well know traditional Japanese tattooist, yet I do not know his name either. Any help would be appreciated!
